Ruth “Maxine” (Rankin) Bundrick, 83, of Cleveland, Texas passed away surrounded by family on July 2, 2009 after a lengthy illness in Houston, Texas. She was the beloved wife of William R. (Bill) Bundrick, Sr. with whom she shared 65 wonderful years of marriage.

Maxine was born on December 19, 1925 in Miguel, Texas the daughter of the late James and Mona Rankin. She was raised in Sutherland Springs, Texas where she was a cheerleader and played basketball. She lived in several places in Texas in her younger years and became a resident of Cleveland, Texas in 1975. Maxine was the youngest of 5 children and she will forever be remembered for being the most caring and creative wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone she knew.

Maxine Bundrick was a war bride in the 1940's and had 4 sons. Bill and Maxine resided in Baytown, Texas for many years and later moved to the North Shore area until her sons graduated from high school. Maxine later became an LVN and worked for Dr.’s Morman and Feducia for many years. Bill and Maxine bought some land on a lake in the Cleveland area and Bill and the sons built a lake house which became their residence during their retirement years. Maxine loved to travel and in the 1970's, she and Bill bought a travel trailer and took many vacations with friends and family. She loved music and the family and friends shared many fun filled times playing music and dancing in the “blue building” at the lake house. Maxine touched everyone with her generosity. She was blessed with a helping, caring spirit and was an amazing care giver to all of her family and friends. Maxine was a wonderful creator. She took joy in making clothes, blankets, and other things for her children and later she took pleasure in making toys, dolls, blankets, and numerous other things for her grandchildren. She was also a fabulous cook and loved to plant a garden and can vegetables and make jams and jelly.

Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, Mona and James Rankin, sister and brother-in-law Nana Lea and Sam Travis, brother and sister-in-law James and Mona Rankin, brother and sister- in-law Charles and Theodara Rankin, twin bother Russell and sister-in-law Mary Rankin, daughters-in-law Donna and Sue Bundrick.

Maxine in survived by her husband, William Bundrick, Sr., son William Bundrick, Jr., son and daughter-in-law Sam and Nancy Bundrick, son and daughter-in-law Jim and Kay Bundrick, son and daughter-in-law John and Jody Bundrick, grandson Steve Bundrick and wife, Kathy, granddaughter Rebecca Nitsche and husband, Charles, granddaughter Michelle Farmer and husband, Dalton, grandson Reece Bundrick and wife Tia, grandson David Bundrick and wife, Brenda, granddaughter Lori Hasse and husband, Jim, 20 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of great friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Pace-Stancil funeral home in Cleveland, Texas followed by internment at the Pace-Stancil Cemetery in Cleveland, Texas. Pall bearers included grandsons Steve Bundrick, Reece Bundrick, grand sons-in-law Dalton Farmer, Charles Nitsche and Jim Hasse and nephew Larry Travis. Honorary pall bearers were nephews Cecil Rankin and Larry Ross. Grandson David Bundrick officiated the ceremony.
