Stoked!!! (STOKED).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">In short, these guys know what they are doing.\u00a0 So clever.\u00a0 This CD plays like a new age Italian sonnet set to the awesome playing skills of outstanding musicians along with great lyrics and vocals.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">The Puss Puss Band is a Folk, Pop, Jazz two piece duo from the UK that encompasses members Asa Galeozzie &amp; Lee Pugh.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">These guys have played with many UK and Welsh artists and bands for years and just a decade ago they decided to try their hands at writing and being session musicians, and let me just say that I am so glad they gave us a peak into their writing and vocal world because it was so worth it.\u00a0 And if two musical geniuses were not enough on this cut, they\u2019ve collaborated with piano legend John Rabbit Bundrick to seal this album with splendid instrumentation and classic music.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">This is a review of The Puss Puss Band\u2019s new album entitled \u201cEchoes across the Cruel Sea.\u201d\u00a0 Twelve songs of pure chilled indie Pop:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol class=\"ol1\">\n<li class=\"li8\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>Bucko\u2019s Lullaby<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>Alone<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>Fall Back Down<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>Cliff Song<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>Inwake<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>Bees Wax<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>Say It First<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>Thinking of You<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>Feline Fine<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>End of June<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>Perfect World<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>Not Just You<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">Three musical masterminds kicked up a great CD where each song delivers something for its listeners with a mix of Pop, Folk, Jazz, and I think ROCK.\u00a0 These seven songs are my highlights.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">We are introduced into The Puss Puss Band\u2019s world with the opening track \u201c<b>Bucko\u2019s Lullaby<\/b>.\u201d\u00a0 This song starts off as a little lullaby but grows bigger and bigger.\u00a0 This has become one of my favorites as Lee Pugh\u2019s voice rings Bon Jovian on this, and the classic percussions with clear brass just eludes to Sunday mornings when you just want to stay indoors and create.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">The second track entitled \u201c<b>Alone<\/b>\u201d has the piano as another artist and it keeps the feet moving.\u00a0 This is a put on your boyfriend\u2019s shirt and just dance type of song.\u00a0\u00a0 In addition, it encompasses the magic that U2 prides themselves in building \u2013 simplicity with a kick.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">There&#8217;s a nostalgic feel to &#8220;<b>Cliff Song<\/b>.&#8221;\u00a0 If you love psychedelic instrumentation, then you will love this song.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">The most illustrative song on the album is entitled \u201c<b>Thinking of You<\/b>.\u201d\u00a0 There\u2019s a hidden out-of-breath effect on this cut that gives the emotion of a person wanting to ask but is afraid to get the answer &#8211; anxiety and anticipation are all wrapped up in this song.\u00a0 The lyrics read \u201cDo you ever think about me? \/ The way I think about you? \/ Say you&#8217;re thinking of me \/ Can&#8217;t stop thinking of you\u201d \u2013 Can you feel it? Breathless, anxious, waiting, thinking!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201c<b>Feline Fine<\/b>\u201d is the ninth track and I fell in love with the big band appeal on this cut \u2013 so fun to hear this song.\u00a0 John Rabbit Bundrick plays the piano in this cut so smooth and so elegant that it makes the listener just melt away.\u00a0 Accurate rhyme scheme and great play on words!!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">With a world so full of chaos today, \u201c<b>Perfect World<\/b>\u201d is the song to listen to and it makes it alright.\u00a0 An endearing in-your-face message wrapped around a great vocal and inspiring stringed instruments to set the tone of PEACE.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201c<b>Not Just You<\/b>\u201d is the twelfth and final track. First, you hear a mellow introduction and then Lee\u2019s vocal comes in strong and really stands out front as an engaging first tenor \/ baritone.\u00a0 This track closes the album with its frankness and tells the story about wanting to be someone, or something, else.\u00a0 True, this is not just a one person issue \u2013 everybody gets in this slump.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">And that brings me to the title of the album \u2013 \u201cEchoes Across the Cruel Sea\u201d which metaphorically ties in the entire scheme of the CD where each song poses a problem and gives a solution like a musical sonnet telling the stories of life\u2019s echoes:\u00a0 echoes of truth and dare, echoes of love and passion, echoes of fear and anxiety, echoes of the internal struggles of just being human, as well as echoes of time and social issues.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">And like many problems posed to us, we do what \u201cThe Puss Puss Band\u201d states in their track Bucko\u2019s Lullaby, \u201cWhat happens when love goes lame? \/ You screw it all up and start over again \/ You box it all up and start over again.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">Not since Simon and Garfunkel, Tears for Fears, or Burt Bacharach have we, the listening audience, been given great story telling as this.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">If anything musically ever reverbed an echo to your ears to help you remember it, forget about it, because, these guy\u2019s songs send an echo that resonates to your ears, flutters your heart, and then it goes BOOM with blazing guitars, sexy voices, catchy hooks, driving instrumentation, and heart string-pulling melodies.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">Which song of The Puss Puss Band is your favorite?\u00a0 Comment and let me know!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s2\">To listen and\/or purchase The Puss Puss Band\u2019s music, go to:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/thepusspussband.bandcamp.com\/\"><span class=\"s5\">https:\/\/thepusspussband.bandcamp.com<\/span><\/a> and follow them on Twitter at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/puss_band\"><span class=\"s5\">@puss_band.<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p12\"><span class=\"s2\">Comments<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p8\"><span class=\"s2\">TONYA SKINNER\u00a0|\u00a0 May 12, 2017 @05:35 am<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p8\"><span class=\"s2\">Hello Kiki&#8230;I love this review!!! 5stars across the board!
